Party Bumi Kenyalang also strongly appeal to all members of all parties both from BN Sarawak and the opposition as well as representatives of NGO, Associations and professional bodies in Sarawak and Sabah could join forces together to take back our rights and power of self rule or autonomy.
Petition for the increase of Technical Committee Members for the Demand of Devolution of power from Federal to Sarawak's State Government & making progress report at stated period
We, Parti Bumi Kenyalang appreciated the first high level meeting held on 13rd June 2016 by Minister in Prime Minister's Department, YAB Nancy Shukri and foreign Minister YAB Datuk Seri Anitah Aman to discuss matters regarding the devolution of power, Inter-Government Committee ( IGC ) Reports and Recommendations, Malaysia Agreement 1963, Malaysia Act and Cobbold Commission Report. Those presented were :-
The Chief Justice of Malaysia, representatives of the federal government, the state secretary of Sabah, the state prosecutor of Sabah, the Vice state prosecutor of Sarawak and the chief financial treasurer of Sarawak.
In this first high level meeting which held on 13rd June, 2016, it was mutually agreed to set up a technical committee comprising representatives nominated by Sarawak and Sabah Government together with representatives from the federal government and historian from Sarawak and Sabah.
To take back the right of self-rule and autonomy of both Sarawak and Sabah is the long standing aspiration of the people of Sarawak and Sabah. It is high time to deal with all deprivations of self rule or autonomy that were deviated from MA 63 Agreement for the last 53 years which were to the detriment to the right of autonomy of Sarawak and Sabah. To set right all matters as mentioned above, we, Parti Bumi Kenyalang hereby reiterate that :-
( 1 ) We, Parti Bumi Kenyalang have always insisted that a wider and broader Special representatives committee members to be set up which must include elected members of council Negeri of both BN and the opposition as well as members of NGO, representatives of Associations and professional bodies, so that a study and scrutiny could be done both in width and dept could be carried out. Thus a fair, open and transparent agreement could be reached with no bias, black spot and under-table dealings.
( 2 ) The discussion in demanding the devolution of power or autonomy of Sarawak and Sabah must be strictly based on Inter-Government Committee ( IGC ) Reports & Recommendations, Malaysia Agreement 1963,Malaysia Act and Cobbold Commission Report. As we know, since the formation of Malaysia, in the last 53 years, there were a few hundred cases of amendments of the Federal Constitutions which were detrimental to the right and power of self rule or autonomy of Sarawak and Sabah, therefore no consideration could given for the Federal constitutions as it is going against the basic principle for the formation of Malaysia.
We, Parti Bumi Kenyalang strongly appeal to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Sarawak to set up a new, wider and broader representative Technical Committee members as mentioned above leading by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, YAB Nancy shukri and Foreign Minister YAB Datuk Seri Anitah Aman which is to be renamed as Special Technical Committee Members.
We also strongly demanded that a new discussion for the devolution of power strictly based on all Agreements as mentioned above to be held soon, so that both Sarawak and Sabah could take back our right to self rule or autonomy as soon as possible.
We further demand that the newly set up Special Technical Committee Members could soon put forward a timetable and plan openly report to the people and the public media in Sarawak and Sabah before the celebration of 53's years "joining" Malaysia.
We, Party Bumi Kenyalang also strongly appeal to all members of all parties both from BN and the opposition as well as representatives of NGO, Associations and professional bodies in Sarawak and Sabah could join forces together to take back our rights and power of self rule or autonomy.
